Electro-Fused Native Magnesium Oxide

Electro-Fused Magnesium Oxide

Features Electro-fused magnesium oxide is produced by melting selected grade A natural magnesite or high-purity lightly fired magnesia granules

summary

Features

Electro-fused magnesium oxide is produced by melting selected grade A natural magnesite or high-purity lightly fired magnesia granules in an electric arc furnace. The product has high purity, large crystal grains, compact structure, strong slag resistance material, good thermal shock stability, is an excellent high temperature electrical insulation material, but also the production of high-grade magnesite brick, magnesite carbon brick and shapeless refractory material important raw materials
The main crystal phase periclase melting point is 2800 ℃, 1600 ℃ sublimation in vacuum, in reducing atmosphere above 2000 ℃ sublimation, density is greater than 3.40 g/cm, porosity of 0% ~ 10%, and 5.5 Mohs hardness, strong resistance to basic slag. Periclase is usually cubic, octahedral or irregularly granular, with complete cube cleavage. Linear expansion coefficient of alpha = (14 ~ 15) x 10 / ℃ (0 ~ 1500 ℃), and it increases with temperature rise.
Thermal conductivity of lambda = 123.5 W/(m K) (100 ℃), with the temperature rising and falling. The elastic modulus is 1.96MPa.Chemical properties of stability, under the high temperature of 1500 ℃ and other than the silica brick no or weak reaction between all kinds of refractory materials. The grain size of periclase increases with the increase of calcining temperature and holding time, and the slag resistance is also improved.
